Registered Massage Therapy

Our Registered Massage Therapists specialize in hands-on techniques tailored to support your recovery and overall well-being. Each session begins with a thorough assessment, followed by a personalized treatment plan designed to address your specific concerns. Treatments may include manual therapy, corrective exercises, and a follow-up evaluation to monitor progress and ensure lasting results.

Registered, Licensed Therapists You Can Trust

Every treatment at Sonic Health comes from a registered massage therapist who has met the training and licensing standards required to practice in BC, so you can feel confident in the hands actually doing the work. We create each client’s treatment plan around their specific goals and comfort level, so you always know what to expect.

Easing Pain From Every Angle

Pain rarely shows up in just one place, so our therapists draw on a range of hands-on techniques to work through whatever is actually going on with your body. That might mean easing the sharp, localized ache of tennis elbow, working through the tightness behind a migraine, or loosening up hip pain that has been slowing you down for months. Conditions like plantar fasciitis, sciatica, and frozen shoulder all respond differently to treatment, which is why we shape each session around your specific concerns.

Massage for Every Stage and Every Body

Recovery rarely follows a single path, which is why our therapists bring different specialties to the table.

Sports Injury Massage

Athletes, including soccer players and boxers among our regular patients, often turn to sports massage to support performance, prevent injury, and speed up recovery between training sessions, with treatment focused on the specific demands their sport places on their body.

Pregnancy Massage

Expecting mothers can find real relief through pregnancy massage, gently adjusted to your stage of pregnancy to ease lower back and hip discomfort, reduce swelling in the limbs, improve sleep quality, and support better circulation throughout your pregnancy.

Student Tension Massage

For patients looking for quality care at a more accessible rate, our supervised massage therapy students offer hands-on sessions focused on stress relief and muscle tension, giving you genuine, attentive treatment while students build the experience they need for their careers.

Senior Molbility Massage

Older adults managing arthritis or limited mobility can benefit from geriatric massage, a specialized approach that takes extra care with positioning, pressure, and pacing to help improve circulation, relieve joint pain, and enhance flexibility.

ICBC/WorkSafeBC Massage

If you are recovering from a motor vehicle accident or a workplace injury, we provide registered massage therapy under both ICBC and WorkSafeBC claims, in addition to private insurance and direct billing. Our therapists build your treatment plan around your claim and your recovery timeline, so your care stays coordinated from your first visit through to discharge.

No matter what brings you in, we will ensure your treatment plan is reflective of your goals and comfort level.

Assessment-Based Plans, Not One-Size-Fits-All

Rather than start with a checklist, we start with a conversation because everyone’s body is so different, so we build assessment-based plans that actually fit what you need instead of a generic routine. Whether you are managing a longstanding condition or dealing with something new, the simple goal is to support your healing, reduce tension, and keep your care personalized at every visit.

One Clinic, Different Specialties, All Working for You

Recovery does not fit neatly into one box, which is why our team brings a range of specialties to Sonic Health rather than a single, uniform approach. Some of our therapists focus closely on sports-related injuries and athletic recovery, while others bring particular experience with pregnancy massage or the needs of older adults managing arthritis and limited mobility.

Additional techniques may also be incorporated, depending on your unique needs, including:

Fascial Techniques to release restrictions within the connective tissue, reduce built-up tension, and improve overall tissue mobility, allowing your body to move more freely and efficiently.

Joint Mobilizations to gently restore proper joint movement, enhance range of motion, and reduce stiffness or discomfort, helping improve function and ease of everyday movement.

Deep Tissue Massage to target deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, relieve chronic tension, break down adhesions, and support long-term pain relief and recovery.

Homecare Exercises to provide personalized movements and routines that reinforce your treatment, support recovery, improve strength and flexibility, and help maintain results between sessions.

Hydrotherapy to use temperature-based treatments that stimulate circulation, reduce inflammation, relax muscles, and promote faster healing and recovery.

Our goal is to not only relieve pain, but to restore balance, improve function, and help you move with confidence in your everyday life.

Questions Often Asked

Does Sonic Health Clinic Offer Direct Billing to Insurance Providers?

Yes, we do offer direct billing to insurance providers, and we know that dealing with coverage details can feel like a hassle on top of everything else, so we are always glad to help take that off your plate.

Do I Need a Doctor's Referral to Book an RMT Appointment?

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment with us. You can book via our Jane App directly online whenever it suits you, and we will carry out a full assessment before building a treatment plan based on your specific goals. A doctor’s note may still be required in certain cases, such as when your insurance coverage has expired, for your first visit of the year, or if you have never used that insurance before.

What is the Clinic's Cancellation or Rescheduling Policy?

We ask for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, since this helps us keep things running smoothly and means every patient gets seen right on time.

Can I Get a Receipt for Extended Health Insurance Claims?

Absolutely, we provide detailed receipts that you can submit straight to your extended health insurance provider for reimbursement, and each one includes all the information your insurer will need to process the claim.
